New Local GP Welcomes Enrolling Patients at Ormiston Medical – Dr John Sison

Ormiston Medical has welcomed Dr John Sison to the team, bringing nearly a decade of experience across Auckland’s health system and a strong passion for community-based care.

Dr Sison graduated from the University of Auckland in 2016 and completed his junior doctor training primarily at Middlemore Hospital before moving into general practice in 2019. Over the past several years, he has worked across both East and South Auckland, building extensive experience in urgent care, acute injuries, long-term health management and family medicine.

Now based at Ormiston Medical, Dr Sison says joining a practice in the community where he and his family already live felt like the right fit.

“My family is local, our children go to school nearby, and I really enjoy being part of this community,” he says. “General practice is about building trusted relationships over time and helping people stay well through every stage of life.”

Patients can see Dr Sison for everything from everyday health concerns and ACC injuries through to preventative care, chronic condition management and ongoing family healthcare.

Known for his approachable style and genuine interest in people, Dr Sison says one of the most rewarding parts of general practice is getting to know patients over time and supporting them through their health journey.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys technology, gaming, basketball, football and spending time outdoors with his family.
