Specialist Menopause Clinic East Auckland
Specialist GP-led perimenopause and menopause care, close to home in East Auckland.
If you’re searching for menopause care in Auckland, you don’t need to travel into the city or wait months for a specialist. Our Menopause Clinic, led by a specialist GP with over 20 years’ focus on women’s health, is available right here in Flat Bush and Clevedon — for women from their mid-30s right through to their 70s.
A specialist GP, not a generalist appointment
Menopause care shouldn’t be squeezed into a rushed 15-minute slot at the end of a busy clinic day.
Our Menopause Clinic gives you dedicated time with Dr Nalini Kohlhagen, a General Practitioner with more than 20 years of dedicated focus on women’s health and an internationally recognised postgraduate qualification in menopause assessment and management.
Dr Kohlhagen has been ahead of the curve on women’s health for a long time. As a trainee GP in Scotland back in 1999, she helped establish one of the earliest dedicated women’s health clinics in her practice, one of the largest in Europe at the time — long before menopause care became the mainstream conversation it is today. She has continued that focus ever since, working across four countries and more than two decades of General Practice, with particular interests in women’s health, weight management, diabetes and chronic disease.
That experience means your appointment isn’t just about ticking off symptoms — it’s a proper conversation about what’s happening in your body, why and what your options are.

Specialist care, without the specialist price tag
Private menopause specialist clinics in Auckland commonly charge $400–$500+ for an initial consultation.
Many offer online, virtual appointments, and while convenient, our face-to-face, in-person appointments allow for more in-depth discussions and assessments.
Our Menopause Clinic makes specialist-level care accessible, because we believe good menopause care shouldn’t be out of reach.

Our clinic is conveniently located opposite Ormiston Town Centre, serving the East and South Auckland communities. Parking is readily available and you can avoid Auckland inner city traffic congestion.

Could this be perimenopause or menopause?
Symptoms of perimenopause and menopause are often missed, dismissed, or put down to “just getting older” — or stress, or a busy life.
Menopause is a biological process that marks the conclusion of a woman’s reproductive years, and usually happens in her late 40s to mid-50s. However, it affects each woman differently, depending on genetics, lifestyle, and personal health. It’s not something to be ashamed of; instead, it should be welcomed. Understanding this transition is crucial, not only for women experiencing it but also for those who support and care for them.
Menopause Symptoms
Menopause starts with perimenopause, which can start in your late 30s or early 40s. During this stage, ovarian activity decreases. As this transition unfolds, the ovaries produce fewer hormones like estrogen and progesterone, leading to many different symptoms. Menopause happens gradually and spans several years. It can be accompanied by varying symptoms, like;
- Hot Flashes and/or Night Sweats
- Mood Swings
- Menstrual Changes
- Vaginal Dryness
- Sleep Disturbances
- Memory Lapses
- General Discomfort
- Changes in Libido
