It affects over 50% of women and around 30% of men aged 60-plus \u2013 and some younger people, too. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.govt.nz\/your-health\/conditions-and-treatments\/diseases-and-illnesses\/osteoporosis#:~:text=Osteoporosis%20is%20when%20your%20bones,women%20than%20it%20does%20men.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Osteoporosis<\/a> runs in families.<\/p><p>The good news is that osteoporosis is both preventable and treatable. One way we treat this condition is with an <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Intravenous_therapy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IV infusion<\/a>. This gives you a medication that prevents bone loss, increases the thickness of your bones and reduces your risk of fractures.
