data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The emergency contraceptive pill (ECP) prevents pregnancy when you take it after unprotected sex. It can be\u00a0 taken up to three days \u2013 72 hours \u2013 after sex, although it is most effective when taken within the first 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n<p>ECP is a high dose contraceptive pill with a hormone called progesterone. This works by delaying ovulation (release of an egg from the ovary).<\/p>\n\n<p>It is important to have a pregnancy test 3-4 weeks after taking ECP to make sure you are not pregnant.<\/p>\n\n<p>ECP is most effective in women weighing under 70kg.
