It also usually works up to four days after sex.<\/li><li>You can get the emergency contraceptive pill in advance \u2013 you can keep it handy to take immediately if you realise there is a risk of pregnancy.<\/li><\/ul><p>It is not advisable to use the emergency contraceptive pill as your regular method of contraception.
